Jane Monroe Donovan

Jane Monroe Donovan's love of and respect for animals was one of the inspirations behind the creation of Small, Medium & Large. "Watching the continuous joy that our pets brought our children, long after their new toys had lost their charm, was something I hoped to capture in this book."

Jane is a self-taught artist and her interest in the natural world has informed her work. She has illustrated other picture books for Sleeping Bear Press, including the award-winning Winter's Gift; Black Beauty's Early Days in the Meadow; and the Likes to Say series.

Jane lives in Pinckney, Michigan, with her family, three horses, two dogs, and a cat.
