Karma grew up in the wilds of North Idaho as an only child where there was limited TV reception with only three channels that didn't come in very well. She played outdoors for fun but her "first love" was reading—about a novel a day by age eleven.

She really wasn't interested in writing as a profession because that is what her mother did for a job. But by the time Karma became a wife and the mother of three young children she noticed how much fun it was to find a good book her children wanted to listen to.

It wasn't until the family bought a computer with the money they received from a tax refund that Karma got busy writing books for children—to pay for that expensive computer! Since then she has had more than 30 books published that have received numerous state and national awards and been translated into dozens of languages.

Karma lives with her handsome husband, Scott, and her three not-so-young anymore children, two dogs, one cat, and four horses on a small ranch in Montana.
